Emily Alp has been practicing various styles of asana since 1998. In 2007, she began a more focused journey into the tenants of Ashtanga Mysore Style. She instantly recognized Paul Dallaghan as a main teacher on her journey and is a Centered Yoga TT graduate with a penchant for pranayama that has pushed her into a 500-hour certification category. Her university degree is based on side-by-side pre-med and journalism coursework. She has more than ten years of science writing and editing experience, working with Weill Cornell Medical College and Bloomsbury among other organizations. She has freelanced health, lifestyle and environmental pieces for publications such as Elephant Journal and Earth Island Journal and has ghost written numerous articles for medical doctors. In the end, she wants—through research and science writing—to free locked-up findings from the ivory tower and bring them back down to Earth … to get good insights into the hands of the masses. As a freelancer, empowerment of as many people as possible with a sense of their own gifts and wisdom is her focus. Currently she is completing a health coaching certification and is excited to continuously transform and share from new viewpoints.
